How to reach Salzburg and the venue

Situated just under 300 kilometres to the west of Vienna and 150 km to the southeast of Munich, Salzburg lies in the heart of Austria and Europe.

Plane

Salzburg Airport (recommended)

Salzburg Airport (SZG) is located just about 4 km outside the city center.
Take bus number 2 (timetable) towards  the "Hauptbahnhof" (the main railway station) which takes about 25 minutes. There you have to change to bus number 3 or 6 - and continue as indicated below - to reach the venue. You can also go by taxi (should be a little bit faster - app. 10-15 minutes).

Munich Airport - Vienna Airport (alternate airports)

In some cases these 2 airports have better and cheaper international connections. If you chose to come to Salzburg via Munich Airport or Vienna Airport, the best way to come to Salzburg is by train (about 2 hours from Munich, and 3 hours from  Vienna).

Train

There are several train stops in the city of Salzburg, you should choose the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof). In front of the main building  you can see the main city bus station. Take a bus as described below to reach the venue, or you can take a cab.

Bus

City buses run frequently (usually every 10 minutes) and can get you to most places in the city quickly.
The venue is easily accessible from the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) by bus number 3:

Bus number 3 (timetable): The direction indicator on the bus should say "Salzburg Süd". Exit at the station "Faistauergasse". After leaving the bus, follow the direction of the bus for about 400 feet, turn right and follow the M.Pacher-Strasse where you can see the Faculty of Natural Sciences already (Map).
